Dear Paula O, Thank you so much for taking the time to review your recent stay with us. The staff, from the front desk to the cleaning crew, made my stay at the Four Seasons Santa Barbara a great experience.
The location across the street from the Ocean, offers access to the beach, and if you are a jogger, a great opportunity to run by the Ocean.
Having been there a couple of times before, my expectations were high. Also we love Four Seasons in general and have had great experiences in the past.
Here is the low down on our trip: Loved sitting outside with a view of the ocean - Exercise facility was small but modern, good equipment - Hotel pool was nice and staff was very attentive Things that did not meet our expectations: I also asked the bellman and a maid in the hall.
Had to make it up ourselves. The next day the housekeeper took off the sheets and never returned to make up the sofa even though we used it daily.
We had a jungle suite. It only had two small drawers to put our clothing. And they were tiny little bottles and bar soap just like a Motel 6.
Better quality of course but tiny - The spa folks gave us one price when we rented bikes and another price when we paid for them.
Stated that they were glad we knew the pricing as they did not!! Called down for my car. Showed my ticket to a valet, still no car. About minutes asked yet a 3 person about my car.
They finally found the right one and brought it up. It was Saturday morning and not that busy. They were friendly but not particularly helpful.
They didnt not seem to know much about local activities or options. Much like the hotel, the property is beautiful with a giant swimming pool overlooking the ocean.
But the front desk staff at the club were not very friendly. We had two meals and drinks at the poolside cafe.
The food was great but the wait staff was very bad. Not a wonderful experience so we spent more time at the hotel pool.
Some of these were minor I suppose but for the price we paid for our stay, I was disappointed. I have had better at other Four Seasons and I expect better than this.

The property has timeless architecture and magnificent grounds. The management and service staff go the extra mile to ensure a guest's total enjoyment.

The mint, pomegranate and cucumber soda proved to be a perfect match for the quality Grey Goose vodka. Although I was pleasantly surprised that the level of spice was quite medium, just a nice touch of habanero infused Sauza tequila with mango, blood orange, and lemon.

As expected the Tartare delivered texture, flavor, and freshness you would expect from an elite restaurant.
We were left salivating for the second fare. This dish was beautifully presented with bold colors, and the flavor profile was balanced and neutral.
A springtime dish everyone should try. This section of the meal is when we were most impressed. We shared everything family style because everything sounded so good.
A classic example of where your eyes are bigger than your stomach. Here are the highlights…. This dish truly lives up to its expectations of aroma, texture, and visual appeal.
The scallops were creatively served over hot stones that seared them in front of your eyes. This dish will excite your palate and leave room for more.
This was a hearty dish that left you satisfied albeit desiring more. The meat from the beef filet melted in our mouths.
The potato puree was helpful in soaking up the sauces and savory flavors from the short rib. To finish things off right, we had to enjoy a dessert and tea.
This dish is one of those that is truly comforting. Even though our appetites were already satiated, the rich and warm interior of the chocolate almond cake, combined with spoonfuls of ice cream was simply bliss.
All in all, The Tydes Restaurant and Aquarium bar were so impressionable and unique we had to write this in depth review on both to do them justice.
